We are proud to announce that 3F Saudi Arabia member Almajdouie Logistics did a tremendous job with the transportation of 4790025 kg goliath cranes.
Here is the exciting story of this shipment:
These Goliath cranes were loaded at Daebul, South Korea, and bound for King Salman Global Maritime Industries Complex. As this facility is still under construction, it was not possible to bring the vessel directly to the port, so the shipment was discharged at RAK Industrial port instead.
RAK port is surrounded by many conveyors for different plants in that area and has many utilities passing under the roads. It was not possible to transport these units from the port to the site via road because of the height and weight of the cranes.
For this reason, it was decided to shift the units by sea from RAK port to a jetty near King Salman Maritime Complex via barge. However, there was another challenge because the road structure from the jetty to the site was not suited for transporting these units. To overcome this obstacle, road widening and compaction were completed with help from the client. A temporary storage area was also prepared near the jetty to keep the units after discharging from the barge.
Congratulations to Almajdouie Logistics for their excellent job!
