AFRICA's biggest air carrier, Ethiopian Airlines will be flying Norwegian seafood to China through Guangzhou in a dedicated B777 freighter six times a week starting in December.
Already, a twice-weekly freighter to Guangzhou has been launched to facilitate the export of Norwegian seafood to the Asian market, said Ethiopian Airlines CEO Tewolde GebreMariam.
Said Avinor Oslo Airport vice president Jasper Spruit: 'The new cargo route will make a major contribution to the export of fresh Norwegian seafood to the ever-growing Asian market. Our partnership with Ethiopian means a great deal for Norwegian value creation.'
Ethiopian launched the Addis Ababa-Oslo service in March 2017 and Mr GebreMariam is pleased with its growth, reported London's Air Cargo News.
'The Oslo route has proven to be a success within just one year of its launch. It will soon become daily and we plan to add new services to Oslo from Asmara in December 2018. Through these flights, we are serving the growing travel need between Africa and Northern Europe,' Mr GebreMariam said.
