Out-of-Gauge Project Execution – Port of Piraeus
We are pleased to highlight a recent Out-of-Gauge (OOG) project successfully executed by our member, Marinair, involving the discharge and controlled handling of an oversized mobile crane at the Port of Piraeus, Greece.
The cargo arrived on a Flat Rack unit and required precise coordination from vessel arrival through to secure handover for onward inland transportation. With OOG cargo, success depends not only on physical movement but also on disciplined sequencing, risk management, and strict compliance with port regulations.
The operation was carried out under controlled port conditions, requiring alignment with terminal time windows, coordinated lifting and positioning procedures, release-ready documentation, and continuous real-time communication among all involved stakeholders.
Throughout the process, the Marinair team maintained hands-on operational control, ensuring stability and efficiency even as timing constraints and environmental variables evolved. In oversized logistics, there is no room for improvisation—only detailed planning, structured execution, and accountability deliver predictable and safe outcomes.
This successful discharge once again demonstrates Marinair’s capability in managing complex OOG and project cargo operations, providing partners with end-to-end operational oversight and structured execution across international routes.
We congratulate our valued member for this precisely and professionally executed project, reinforcing the high standards of reliability and expertise within our global network.
